FAQ’s
What types of classes does Readiness Training Group NJ offer?
RTG offers both pistol and rifle classes for every experience level. If you have never handled or fired a firearm, then our Safety Course is for you. If you fully understand the cardinal rules of firearms safety, understand how to operate a firearm, and are looking to increase your proficiency, our Level I class is a good fit. Our Level II classes focus on increased marksmanship and advanced techniques. Level II classes require that the student has enrolled in a Level I class or an equivalent class/experience.
What are the levels of training?
All of our classes are broken down into levels to help the student best select the training they need:
Safety Class - Our Safety Classes are for students who have never, or very rarely, handled a firearm. To register for Safety Classes, the student does not need to know or understand the cardinal rules of firearms safety. There are no prerequisites for the Safety Class. Some of the topics of a Safety Class include firearms safety, loading and unloading, fundamentals of marksmanship, and firearm disassembly/maintenance. The only required equipment for a Safety Class is a firearm, ammunition, and eye/ear protection. If you do not own a firearm but would like to take the Safety Class, please email us at Team@ReadinessTrainingGroup.com.
Level I - To register for a Level 1 Class (Rifle or Pistol), the student must first attend the Safety Class or have attended a comparable class/experience. Some of the topics covered in Level I Classes are proper zero, safely handling and operation, and clear stoppages on their firearm. This class will also further explore the fundamentals of marksmanship so you can hit what you’re aiming at. Level I Classes may also have required equipment such as a sling for a rifle or a holster for a pistol.
Level II- To register for a Level II Class (Rifle or Pistol) the student must first attend a Level I Class or have attended a comparable class/experience. some of the topics covered in Level II Classes are the fundamentals of marksmanship, managing recoil, efficiently employ positional shooting techniques, shooting on the move, and shooting against the clock.
Skill Building- To register for a Skill Building Class, the student must first attend a Level II Class or have attended a comparable class/ experience. These classes are designed to focus on areas of training that may not directly apply to traditional marksmanship such as Breaching and shooting with Night Vision Goggles.
When are your classes and how do I register?
Our upcoming classes are listed on the UPCOMING CLASSES page on our website. There you will find all of the classes that are scheduled.
What if I don’t see the class I want to take in the upcoming classes page?
If you are interested in taking a class that is not currently being offered, send us an email at team@readinesstraininggroup.com. From there, we will determine if you would like a private session or open enrollment class.
What is the difference between a private session and open enrollment class?
A private session is a range day with a RTG instructor that is not open to the public. The student will select the class they would like to take and who is permitted to attend. Private sessions can be one on one or a group of students.
An open enrollment class is open to the public and can have as many as ten shooters.
What is RTG’s refund policy?
Readiness Training Group offers a refund (minus $20) up to 30 days before the class date. Refunds within the 30 day window will result in credit to a future class. RTG will always offer a full refund in any extreme or emergency situation regardless of the 30 day window.
